In some circumstances, when the 4.2.40 version of this virus-scanning engine is used in the context of GroupShield for Lotus Domino, the controlling application can crash whilst closing down. This release provides a modified 4.2.40 AIX scanning engine to resolve this issue. This engine is functionally identical to the engine supplied with the VirusScan for AIX v4.24 product. FILES INCLUDED WITH THIS RELEASE This release contains the following files: libaixfv.a Engine library file messages.dat Messages file license.dat License file license.txt License information signlic.txt 3rd party license information readme.txt This file _______________________________________________ INSTALLATION SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS This scanning engine should only be used in conjunction with McAfee GroupShield 5.0 for Lotus Domino (AIX). Load the Domino Server You should now see the Engine, DAT version displayed on the Domino server console. Note: It is necessary to stop the Domino Server to replace the Engine on AIX due to the fact that the Shared Memory Segments do not get cleared down. These will only get cleared down on reboot of the Domino Server. Method 2 1. Download the update package, eaix4240.zip. 2. TAR up the libaixfv.a, attach this tar file to GSDUPDATE.nsf, this can be accomplished in the following manner: a. Open GSDCONFIG.nsf b. Go to Auto Update Configurations, you will see on the action bar Attach New Engine\DAT click on this. c. This then brings up a new dialog box, i. Select the Platform you will be installing to. ii. Browse to the location of the zip file that contains only the libaixfv.a ensure that the tar file does not contain sub folders otherwise the install will fail. iv. Click OK. d. Open the Engine\DAT document from the GSDCONFIG.nsf Autoupdate, ensure that it is set to update from GSDUpdate.nsf. e. Once you have checked the update is coming from the GSDUDATE.nsf, then either schedule the update or up date now, by clicking on the Action Bar "Update NOW" button. 3. You will need to re-cycle the Domino Server for the new Engine to take effect. Note: It is necessary to stop the Domino Server to replace the Engine on AIX due to the fact that the Shared Memory Segments do not get cleared down. These will only get cleared down on reboot of the Domino Server. _____________________________________________________ CONTACTING MCAFEE SECURITY & NETWORK ASSOCIATES Technical Support Home Page http://www.networkassociates.com/us/support/ KnowledgeBase Search https://knowledgemap.nai.com/phpclient/homepage.aspx PrimeSupport Service Portal http://mysupport.nai.com Login credentials required.
