Using this package, you can deploy NimdaScn to managed computer and schedule a Nimda Scan task. The Nimda Scanner will detect and clean Nimda virus infections on all the fixed disks on the machine, and will forward infection events from infected files to the ePolicy Orchestrator server. ## FILES INCLUDED WITH THIS PACKAGE ## Install.pkg It contains all the files needed for deploying and managing NimdaScn using ePO. NmScInst.exe Installer for Nimda Scanner NSC100.nap .NAP file for installing Nimda Scanner in the repository. Readme.txt This text file. _______________________________________________ INSTALLATION ## INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS ## To use the Nimda Scanner, you must have ePolicy Orchestrator 2.0 management software installed to add this .NAP file into the Repository. ## PREPARING TO INSTALL ## 1. Create a temporary folder on your hard drive. 2. Extract the package file from ePONimdaScn.zip archive to the temporary folder. ## INSTALLATION STEPS ## 1. Start the ePolicy Orchestrator console. 2. Log on to the ePolicy Orchestrator server. 3. In the console tree under ePolicy Orchestrator, right-click the "Repository," then select "Configure Repository." The Configure Software Repository window appears. 4. Select "Add new software to be managed." 5. Click [Continue] to open the Select a Software Package window. 6. Select the Management Package (.NAP) file from the temporary folder created in the procedure "Preparing to Install," earlier in this file. 7. Click [Open] to add the product to the Repository. 8. Click [Yes] when asked if you would like to enable deployment. _______________________________________________ DEPLOYMENT ## DEPLOYING THE NIMDA SCANNER ## 1. Start the ePolicy Orchestrator console. 2. Log on to the ePolicy Orchestrator server. 3. In the console tree under ePolicy Orchestrator, Directory, select the desired site, group, or computer. The Policies, Properties, and Tasks tabs appear in the upper details pane. 4. Click the "Policies" tab. 5. Select "Nimda Scan." The Enforce Policies page appears in the lower details pane. 6. Deselect "Inherit." 7. Select "Force Install Nimda Scan." 8. Click the [Select…] button and choose the install package. 9. Click [Apply] to save your entries. ## CREATING A NIMDA SCAN TASK ## 1. Log on to the ePolicy Orchestrator server. 2. In the console tree under ePolicy Orchestrator, right-click the Directory or the desired site, group, or computer, then select "Schedule Task." The Schedule New Task window appears. NOTE: If you want to create a task for an individual computer, an agent must first reside on that computer. 3. Enter a New Task Name. 4. Select "Nimda Scan" from the list of tasks. 5. Click [OK] to create the new task on the Tasks tab in the details pane. 6.
