HP1 - THE PURPOSE OF THIS PATCH

This Patch improves certain aspects of the 
SupportMagic action server and the Magic Total 
Service Desk Enterprise action server in
Event Orchestrator v.1.03.

WD1 - WHAT THIS PATCH DOES


This patch replaces two DLL files in Event 
Orchestrator v. 1.03.  One DLL pertains to the 
SupportMagic action server and the other DLL 
affects the Magic Total Service Desk Enterprise 
action server.

IR1 - ISSUES RESOLVED IN THIS PATCH


1.  Sometimes the Problem Description area in 
    a Magic Total Service Desk Enterprise help 
    desk ticket in Event Orchestrator v.1.03 
    appears blank or incomplete. This patch 
    minimizes this occurrence.

2.  Event Orchestrator v.1.03 does not support 
    the %TRAP_VARIABLES% variable for the Magic 
    Total Service Desk Enterprise action server. 
    This patch provides support for this variable.

3.  Event Orchestrator v.1.03 does not include 
    %TRAP_VARIABLES% in the problem description 
    defaults for a Magic Total Service Desk 
    Enterprise action server or a SupportMagic 
    action server. This patch modifies the 
    default problem description to include 
    %TRAP_VARIABLES%.

This Patch consists of the following two 
DLL files:

ASMerlin.dll = the updated DLL for Magic 
Total Service Desk Enterprise action servers

ASSuprtMagic.dll = the updated DLL for 
SupportMagic action servers

IN1 - INSTALLATION


* INSTALLATION STEPS *

1. Shut down the Event Orchestrator Service.

2. Close the Event Orchestrator Console.

3. Copy the DLLs to the Event Orchestrator folder.

4. Use REGSVR32.exe to register the new DLLs.

5. Start the Event Orchestrator Service to resume
   operation.

6. Delete the previously configured Help Desk Action,
   and create a new Action.  This is required because 
   this update is not dynamic and will not otherwise 
   be reflected in the previously configured action.


* TESTING YOUR INSTALLATION *

To verify that the DLLs were updated:

1. View the properties windows of the new Help Desk 
   Action.

2. Click on the "Problem Description" Tab.

3. In the "Use SNMP Trap Data in Problem Description" 
   window, verify that %TRAP_VARIABLES% is at the end
   of the text string.


* REMOVING THIS PATCH *

To remove this Patch, reinstall your
original Event Orchestrator v. 1.03 software. This 
will restore the previous DLLs.

NOTE: Network Associates recommends that you NOT 
remove the Patch files from your Event Orchestrator 
installation once you install them. If you reinstall 
your Event Orchestrator software, Network Associates
recommends that you also reinstall this Patch.

AD1 - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The "Configure Event Orchestrator defaults" window 
displays "Magic Total Service Desk - Enterprise 
Edition v5.01" for both versions 5.01 and 5.10.  
This is only a text file issue and will not affect 
the new DLLs provided in this patch.
